“AIN’T DERE NO MORE”

Have you ever heard the song by Benny Grunch and the Bunch called “Ain’t Dere No More”? GOD’S WAY OR MAN’S WAY?

Imagine that you have come to a fork in the road. In 1968 I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to begin working on campus ministry with Ralph Martin and other early leaders of the fledgling Catholic Charismatic Renewal. It wasn’t called Charismatic Renewal at the time. We were just a group of young adults who had been baptized in the Spirit and we were discovering the charismatic gifts and the power of praise.

Fr. Michael Scanlan, TOR I first met Fr. Michael Scanlan in January 1971, only 15 months after he had been baptized in the Spirit.  It was at a gathering in Ann Arbor, Michigan for leaders of the fledgling Catholic Pentecostal movement as it was called in those days....
